Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in the Philippines

April 20th, 2013 by Jojo Ross | 9,363 views 11 Comments

The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or HBOT as a natural medicine is fast gaining popularity throughout the world particularly in advance and emerging countries.

Today, HBOT or Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy remains a relatively unknown medical treatment in the Philippines with less than 5% awareness among adult population. Indeed, awareness with HBOT are relatively and unfortunately limited and mostly confined with individuals and groups in the Diving Industry.

The Philippines is still wanting both for professional individuals and facilities with regards to HBOT.

Just to illustrate, Philippines has less than 10 Hyperbaric Chambers compared with about 300 Hyperbaric Chambers in Taiwan.

Professionally, there are no more than five (5) Hyperbaric Doctors in the Philippines that are accredited by the UHMS or Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society in the United States.

It is worthy to mention that we have a highly professional individual by the name of Jose. R. Bernardo, MD who is not only a biologist and a medical doctor, but to say the least, Jose R. Bernardo, M. D. is indeed a well established, highly respected and a top of mind acknowledged authority and medical practitioner in the field of Hyperbaric Medicines particularly in the Philippines.

To know more about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, you can visit the website http://www.hyperbaricphilippines.com

The Accuheal Care Centre for Hyperbaric Medicine, Wound Healing and Wellness situated at #88 Intermed Building West Avenue Quezon City, Philippines founded just last March 2012 by Jose R. Bernardo, M. D. is the culmination of his noblest goal to further propagate the medical effectiveness of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in the Philippines.

Generally, the Accuheal Care Centre for Hyperbaric Medicine, Wound healing and Wellness offers the following services, to wit: 1. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy; 2. Commercial Diving Medical Examination; 3. Recreational Diving Medical Examination; 4. Diving Medicines; 5. Toxicology; 6. Wound Care; 7. Wellness and; 8. Consultancy.

Moreover, Accuheal Care Centre for Hyperbaric Medicine, Wound Healing and Wellness is also an accredited distributor of PAHI or Pan-America Hyperbaric, Inc.

It is quite disheartening if our people will not be fully informed that HBOT is very effective in the treatment of the following indications, to wit.
1. Air or Gas Embolism;
2. Carbon Monoxide Poisoning;
3. Gas Gangrene (Clostridal Myositis and Myonecrosis);
4. Crush Injury, Compartment Syndrome and Acute Traumatic Ischemias;
5. Decompression Sickness;
6. Diabetic Foot; Diabetic Retinopathy; Diabetic Nephropathy;
7. Exceptional Blood Loss;
8. Intracranial Abscess;
9. Necrotizing Soft Tissue (Necrotizing Fasciitis);
10. Osteomyelitis (Refractory);
11. Delayed Radiation Injury (Soft Tissue and Bony Necrosis);
12. Skin Grafts and Flaps (Compromised);
13. Thermal Burns;

The other reported indications are as follows, to wit: 1. Autism; 2. Cerebral Palsy; 3. Multiple Sclerosis; 4. Hemorrhagic Cystitis; 5. Inflammatory Bowel Disease; and 6. Psoriasis.

Indeed, ACCUHEAL CARE CENTRE FOR HYPERBARIC MEDICINE, WOUND HEALING AND WELLNESS will serve as the primary vehicle of Jose R. Bernardo, M. D. to help more and more Filipinos attain the best medical treatment, care and wellness through the effective medical use of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).

  3. Marie says:

    they will be 100% out of pocket. They are coslty. For us, we do not have any other medical options, other than just treating symptoms. Brain injuries are so hard. The doctors can tell you all kinds of horrible statistics, scare you out of your mind, but they don’t have anything proactive to offer. We feel the cost was worth it, even for HBOT. Now that Casey is a little bigger, I have been thinking of finding another HBOT local to see if she responds better this time. The risks were very small for both. It is a personal choice though. It was right for us, but I can’t say everyone in our shoes should do the same. If you would like to know more details, please feel free to contact me. There is a Hot Topics section on Casey’s blog that talks a little more about both of these. There is also a contact us option on her site to send us an email directly. I am always happy to answer any questions. caseybarnes.orgGood luck to you and your family <3
