Knowing what is right from wrong will not make us all better persons. It is doing what is right that will make us all better persons. Insisting a wrong doing is what makes one an untrustworthy person.
Nonetheless, most people who do lot of wrongs and are taking advantage of other people are powerful and rich persons. Wrongly using a class of person to advance once interest makes one a truly evil person.
Everything on earth has its own special purpose.
Human beings are special creatures of God. God gifted the human beings with the power of mind to discern, to differentiate and to choose from what is right from wrong. Does the power of discernment makes human being far superior from the other creation of God?
God created both living and non-living things.
Islands are non-living things. We have thousands of islands that are in existence for over a hundred or thousand years. These islands are not consumed of worries like boredom and sadness. Islands are not concerned of being alone or for not being able to talk, walk and be in different places.
Yet islands are very important creation of our God.
Islands are home to millions of creatures and life species. Without the islands there will be no trees, plants, grass, wildlife and other living things. Rocks, soils, sands, land, minerals, metals and other components that when joined together became what we call the islands.
Like the islands, trees are also very important. Trees fruits are source of foods for human and other life species. Trees woods can be used to construct houses, furniture and other useful things like papers.
Trees are beautiful, useful and can inspire persons. Joyce Kilmer will live through time because of her famous poem with the title Tree. She poetically wrote “A tree that looks at God all day, and lifts her leafy arms to pray; a tree that may in summer wear a nest of robins in her hair; upon whose bosom snow has laid; who intimately lives with rain”
Nevertheless, trees may produce the hardest woods. It can grow bigger than a tower. Trees can also bear delicious and best-tasting sweetest fruits but just the same as in all God’s creation trees has its own purpose and limitation. On its own trees cannot move from one place to another. It can only extend its reach by growing branches but will not be able to make even the smallest single step.
Breathing or not all things on our earth has its own very purpose. Living things however experienced transformation in their whole life that is from birth, bloom, fertility, fruitfulness, decadence and death.
Stones can be grounded and turn to small pieces.
God is so omniscient and so powerful. Trees, plants, flowers cannot move on their own but nature has its own way to propagate their species. Birds most often eat and carry their seeds and in the process drop some seeds in distant places to grow and start the process of life again.
Other living creatures as against non-living things can move from one place to the other like human, animals, birds, fishes, germs and other non-human beings. Similarly with trees, plants and flowers they too have limitations. Water creatures can only live in waters whereas land creatures cannot stay forever and live on water. Decision makings of non-human living creatures are based on instinct and senses and mostly powered by their will to survive.
Yes, God gave the human beings the gift of life that is different, better and special compared with trees, plants, and flowers. Human beings are significantly superior as compared to animals because human beings are gifted with powerful minds that enable them to rule and harness the earth’s resources.
God gave humans not only life. God enable human to discern what is right from wrong; to know what is harmful and what is beneficial to them; the gift to determine which is lacking or excessive; the gift to have the capacity to fulfil his needs, wants and expectations.
Our God, our Benefactor indeed has gifted us with skills and talents to excel in almost all fields of endeavour particularly if we are given the ample opportunities to harness our own individual talents.
Men have progressed over time from Stone Age to tribes, to kingdoms, to area of industrialization, to modern information technologies and now to the age of social media.
Now at over 8 Billion people population about 5.2 Billion people are poor. Yes, billions of people worldwide are experiencing poverty and or sub-standard kind of living and are experiencing occasional hunger. In fact in certain African Region about 70% of its people are subsisting in one meal a day, not comparable to a decent meal by average people.
Only 10% of the population or about 800 Million owned about 64% of the wealth on earth.
The great divide between the rich and the poor is like the space gap between the heaven and the earth.
There is indeed a great concentration of wealth to very few people. Earth is continuously being ruled by people consumed with greed. These greedy people are taking almost everything millions over their needs and wants and allowing the great majority to experience a life mired in poverty.
Hundreds of Millions of people lived under the heaven as their roofs. They need to work on a daily basis otherwise there will be no foods to be put on their table, if there is indeed available table.
In the midst of our society we have living dead with skeleton like body of skin and bones while the wealthy people are experiencing great abundance of wealth and all things and convenience that money can buy.
Human beings, the best creation and God’s beloved children are chosen by God to be the caretaker of earth and all the other creatures and earth’s resources. We human beings are the benefactor of God’s kingdom and are expected to do what is right as we have the gift to differentiate what is right from wrong.
Our God with all His power can provide for all the needs of human beings. Nonetheless, no matter how loving and kind is our Creator will not provide for human lust and greed.
We know that there are ancient cities that were destroyed by God because of the overflowing evil deed of its residents.
In high heaven our God continues to hear the loud cries of the suffering of poor particularly the cries of hungry children. Will God end the human’s existence sooner than expected because of the prevalent greed of men in all parts of the globe? Will he recall the dead and judge them together with the living?
What happen with the abilities of men to distinguish right from wrong? Why those who are in power choose wrong over right? Why is it that there is so much corruption, crimes and other evil deeds perpetuated by people coming from all walks of life and in all professions?
Did a strong majority of people experienced to give clothes to bare bodies? Did we ever invite at least one unknown hungry person to dine in our table? Have we volunteered to accommodate a family who lost their homes during the height of a ravaging storm just for a night?
Do we willingly shared our car to our neighbors who we see walking going out of the village?
All of us are born equally naked. After each one of us are born the quality of living that we will all experience will no longer equal from each other. Although each one of us has only one life, the poor sick may not survive the sickness for lack of money to be hospitalized or to buy the needed medicines that will cure his sickness.
Hence, on average the rich experiences longer healthy life compared with poor people.
Yes each one of us will live only once. Did we use that one life so that more people will be happy and will have better lives? Do we think that with all our riches we can buy a space in heaven?
It is not bad to be rich. It is bad to enrich at the expense of others. We will pass this world once and people will remember only the people that merit to be remembered.
Does God’s gift of knowing what is right from wrong made us better persons?
We know that the evil celebrates for every greed and lusts that will prevail.
Is it really difficult to live in the ways that God wanted us to live? Do we not care for our salvation?
God commanded us to love God above all and to love our fellowmen as we love ourselves.
Do we not want our world a better place to live? If all of us will do what is right then certainly our world will be a better place to live.
Our God will celebrate if His children will do what is right and will live in accordance with His commandments.
Yes, the gift of knowing and doing what is right will make us all better persons.
