Life and learning is a continuing journey. Only death will put a stop to our journey. We can stand up every time we stumble or we can pause for a break and begin our journey once again. Life will become more challenging and exciting if we will push our selves to unknown limits. We should not be afraid to fail. God is so kind that we made us all born winners. To win is our destiny, but to fail is our own choice and doing.

That in spite of the fact that millions of Filipinos, Ilocano and otherwise, residing within the Philippines and around the world, are supportive and are encouraging the good senator to run for president in 2016, Senator Ferdinand “Bong-Bong” Marcos remains safely un-committal and has not made any categorical statement or pronouncement that he indeed will run for president of the Philippine Republic in 2016.

The recent 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA) by the current Philippines president aside from soliciting reactions from the public of the current president’s performance it also signifies that the political curtain arena for the 2016 presidential contest has just begun.

Vice President Jejomar Binay since his election as vice president has long announced his intention to run for the presidency in 2016. Whereas, the Liberal Party through the now Senate President Franklin Drillon has likewise announced some 4 months ago that the Party’s standard bearer is DILG Secretary Mar Roxas. The same thing is true with Senator Bong Revilla of which his party mates in the Lakas-CMD categorically announced that indeed Senator Revilla would be their presidential standard bearer in 2016.

Secretary Roxas mindset to run for president has been fixated too long ago as he himself should have run for the 2010 presidency and the story of his unselfish and heroic sacrifice in favor of P’noy has endeared him to a lot of Filipinos. On the other hand, VP Binay is being hailed as the man to beat in the 2016 presidential race.

Not to be outdone, Senator Revilla smilingly, but with conviction declared that if he runs he will run to win and that he will make sure that planning and preparation are all in place to catapult him for the presidency.

In my personal opinions, there are many reasons why the good senator from Ilocos cannot make any categorical pronouncement at this juncture whether he will run for the presidency in 2016 or not.

Everybody is encourage to post a comment to support or to vehemently contradict any of my opinion on why Senator Marcos kept delaying his intention to run or not to run as president in 2016.

The best comment that we could get is from the good senator himself if he indeed is brave enough to take the challenge of the presidency.

Is he for presidency? Below are my personal opinions, to wit.

1. Senator Marcos fear to lose in the presidential contest far outweighs his desire to become the next president of the Republic of the Philippines;

2. That despite the long successful experience of his family in Philippine politics, Senator Bong-Bong Marcos do not know how to win the presidential election;

3. That Senator Marcos is not certain or is doubtful whether the Nacionalista Party where he belong will support him:

4. That Senator Marcos has not reached yet an agreement with a would be vice presidential tandem necessary to enhance his image and winnability;

5. That Senator Marcos has not received definite pledges of financial support from the business community particularly from businessmen that matters in politics;

6. That Senator Marcos in his assessment and judgment is neither certain whether he will be supported by the acknowledged kingpins of rich vote provinces and cities nor his hands will be raised by national political king makers;

7. That Senator Marcos is not decisive and straightforward enough to humbly ask for support from those influential persons who are both loyal and long friends and allies of his father;

8. That Senator Marcos do not know how to effectively respond with all the criticisms that will be hurled against him, his family and particularly with his father once he announced that he indeed will run for president in 2016;

9. That Senator Marcos knows and believes that President Aquino will do everything in his power to thwart the presidential ambition of Senator Marcos;

10. That Senator Marcos himself believes that he has no chance to win the presidential election in 2016;

11. That Senator Marcos is inclined to believe that the mainstream media are not supportive of him to become the next president of the Philippines;

12. That Senator Marcos knows that he does not possess even an inch of his father’s brilliance and strong conviction and determination as a person.

The most common excuse that candidates uses was that it is too early for politicking and that one should concentrate first on the works that will benefit the great majority of electorates. Nonetheless, the early birds catch the healthy and sweet worms, while the bird that works early and stays and works late catches the remaining worms.

The bird that does not do anything and prefers to wait and see usually ends up as a loser. A strong leader is firm and not akin to bamboo shoots that sways only in the direction of the wind.

Once Senator Marcos announced his intention to run for president, a good 6 months after his announcement will be enough for him to assess whether he has a strong or slim chance to win the presidency. He should not be afraid of the criticism against his father, against him or against any member of his family as all those criticisms has been hurled repeatedly and endlessly and will continue to haunt him and his family for the rest of their lives unless all issues are faced and confronted squarely.

He could even humbly but wittily and sharply retort that his opponents cannot win any election simply by virtue of platform of governance but by hurling criticisms and nasty words against his father who has died too long ago and that his father can no longer defend himself by virtue of being dead for over 2 decades.

Presidency indeed is a destiny. Though destiny it is, the individual being chosen to lead and vested the presidential authority is one great leader who is decisive, willing and ready to take on the great responsibility and be accountable to the nation and its people.

Is Bong-Bong Marcos fit to become president and brave enough to take the challenge of the presidency?

What can you say about the good senator?

    i believe that bong bong marcos run for the presidency will win for the position. the vast number of the electorate will choose him for the next president of the republic. our family is one of the recepient of his father land reform. unlike for those politician they protect the land owners to give their land to the farmers. like those farmers from visaya. i forgot what place in in the visayan region who protesting to be the recipient of land from that region. and one of the presidential aspirant are protecting the land owner to give thse land to the farmers. that politician is mar roxas. nagbabait baitan lang pala. and one of their employee in araneta center told me if he gets angry to them. even a dog could not swallowed what he’s saying to his employee.

    If ever he run for president this coming 2016 , i’m pretty sure he will easily win , people this days are awaken from a deep long slept , comparing the situation now , Philippines has it worst time whilst during the martial law era things were so much better , a milestones difference. He has done so many things , most infrastractures around Phlippines was built during Marcos administration , known to be one of the most powerful & progressive country in Asia. Pilipinos just want that old days back , where people were so well- disciplined and enjoying the freedom of safety. After the fall of Pres. marcos things slowly gone down hill and hell right up to these days.People do believe on BBM that he can do the job just like his father . The government right now is quite disappointing , nothings done , corruption is at highest peak , criminals are everywhere fearless , poverty is going even higher , everythings are getting so expensive while salaries are kept frozen for the lowest unless you are executive or something higher with professional degree even then still not enough so most Pilipinos nowadays are aiming abroad to make ends met. So goodluck for BBM in 2016

  15. dan says:

    Yes!!! I want the marcos back in the palace. Yes to BBM for president…

  16. mark lepon says:

    Only One thing is for sure when BBM runs for President:
    1.) Criminals will be shaken to their knees due to the return of Death Penalty,
    2.) Some of the Elites opposed to his presidency will do anything to block him,
    3.) The media will mobilize everything in their disposal to decieve the people and feed them false information and a one-sided criticism once again, and that includes our educational system,
    4.) Malaysia will be far more aggressive and will spend millions of dollars to finance its hellhounds in mindanao (MILF) to conduct sabotages and wage an unseen war against the people loyal to the Marcoses. will do everything to keep Sabah and the rest of Mindanao under it’s Claw. Thanks to Pnoy and his Ambitious Father.
    5.) The Reds will do the same.
    6.) Most especially, The current president will be disturbed and develop goosebumps, so he will try to use his advantage while in power to stop BBM’s plan….
    7.) You know the rest….. as History will always be written by the Victors.
    8.) He will ofcourse, surely win. because the majority of the quality voters are staying in full-silence just waiting for the Rise of the Eagle’s Son. and this Weakened Nation will be Great and Strong Once again… and all those who tried to stop him and all those who were brainwashed by the Yellow Empire will be forgiven… and soon they will finally understand…. Why there were no casualties during the EDSA Revolution. because Marcos simply left the country for the Filipino people to realize what its like being under a government that followed until now…. compared to his time.
